Selling computers - Part 1
Tiring of working for others, I set up my own company to sell emerging microcomputers, and to provide support for the increasing number of IBM mid range machines that were springing up locally.
Initially with co-operation from IBM I undertook routine maintenance work on disk drives, magazine loaders, printers on S/32, S/34, S/36 machines. At the time the frontier was closed and an genuine IBM Engineer was several hours away by air from Heathrow.
We also sold NorthStar Horizon S100 based machines, which were very popular and reliable.
The company grew out of my bedroom and we opened an office and employed staff.
